1. Scope and roles
This policy applies to information we handle through the Service. It does not govern the independent privacy practices of Shopify, AliExpress, Stripe, other commerce platforms, or websites and services that link to or integrate with DS Syncer.
For account, billing, support, and website information, Expedition Labs generally decides why and how the information is processed. For personal information contained in store data, including customer orders and shipping details, the merchant generally controls the information and Expedition Labs processes it to provide DS Syncer.
2. Information we collect
Account and contact information
We may collect your name, email address, account credentials, organization or shop name, support communications, and other information you provide when creating or managing an account.
Store and integration information
When you connect a service, we may receive and store store domains, platform identifiers, authorization tokens, API credentials, connection status, locations, settings, and synchronization history. Sensitive credentials are not displayed publicly and are used to operate the connections you authorize.
Product, order, and fulfillment data
Depending on the connected platforms and features you use, DS Syncer may process product titles, descriptions, variants, SKUs, images, prices, inventory, orders, line items, customer names, contact details, shipping and billing addresses, order totals, tracking information, and supplier order references.
Billing information
We process plan, subscription, billing-cycle, usage, and billing event information. Payments may be handled by Shopify, Stripe, or another platform billing provider. We do not receive complete payment card numbers from those providers.
Technical and usage information
We may collect IP address, browser and device information, request logs, timestamps, pages or features used, error details, and diagnostic information. We may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies that are necessary for authentication, security, preferences, and operation of the Service.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot DS Syncer;
- authenticate users and manage accounts and shop access;
- connect authorized platforms and synchronize products, inventory, orders, fulfillments, and related records;
- apply plan limits, process billing, and manage subscriptions;
- respond to support, privacy, and security requests;
- monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and improve the Service; and
- comply with law and enforce our agreements.
We do not sell personal information or use store customer data for third-party advertising.
4. How we share information
We may disclose information:
- With connected platforms. We exchange information with Shopify, AliExpress, and other services you direct us to connect.
- With service providers. Vendors may process information for hosting, infrastructure, database, email, payment, monitoring, security, and customer support services.
- For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or respond to lawful requests.
- For a business transaction. Information may be transferred in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
- With your direction or consent. We may share information when you instruct or authorize us to do so.
5. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain business and security records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Order records in DS Syncer are subject to the retention period of the applicable plan. Deleting an order from DS Syncer does not delete the source order from a connected commerce platform. Some records may remain in backups, logs, billing records, or legal archives for a limited period.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls and protection of authentication credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for protecting your account credentials, connected-platform credentials, devices, and authorized users. Please notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
7. International processing
Expedition Labs and its service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, and other countries. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from those where you live. Where required, we use contractual or other safeguards for cross-border transfers.
8. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. You may also update certain account information directly in DS Syncer.
Merchants are responsible for handling requests from their customers concerning store data. We will assist merchants with valid requests as required by applicable law and platform requirements. We may need to verify your identity or authority before completing a request.
Send privacy requests or complaints to privacy@dssyncer.com. You may also contact the applicable privacy regulator in your jurisdiction.
9. Children
DS Syncer is a business service and is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through account registration.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy with a new “Last updated” date and provide additional notice when required by law.
